Sales Desk Associate

Position Summary: 

The Sales Desk Associate provides assistance to corporate account managers and service technicians by creating quotes and processing orders for clients.  In the absence of the account manager, the Associate deals directly with the customer to provide solutions.  In addition, the Sales Desk Associate fills in for Purchasing and Receiving  as needed.  The Sales Desk Associate builds and maintains relationships with clients through proactive communication.  Characteristics of the Sales Desk Associate:  Organized, Thorough, Detail Oriented, Excellent Communication Skills  Resourceful, Superior Product Knowledge, Follow-Through.

 

Education/Certifications/Skills Requirements

  1. Interpersonal skills: such as telephone skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care

  2. Self-motivation with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry

  3. The ability to build Client loyalty and trust through transparency and vulnerability, by using the philosophies in the book Getting Naked by Patrick Lencioni.

  4. Proficiency in Micosoft Office Suite specifically in Word and Excel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Corporate Account Manager and Technical Engineer in providing product solutions for the Client.

  2. Prepare quotes and scopes of work for solutions offered to the Client

  3. Process the Order after Client has accepted quote

  4. Prepare the billing for the order

  5. Follow up with Client after the completion of the order

  6. Communicate with Client regarding

    1. Questions about existing orders

    2. Questions about products or services

    3. Placing an order

  7. Process orders for Clients not assigned to a Corporate Account Manager

Individual measurables:  The inside Sales Associate will have a quarterly preview with the Team Leader.  At that time, they will discuss and plan a career path and the tools needed for that path.
